A community-driven library of reusable AI agent skills for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Cline, and more.
OpenAgentSkills
A community-driven library of reusable AI agent skills — drop one in and your agent gains a new superpower.
GitHub is where you contribute. SimplyUtils is where you discover.
Skills work across multiple agent environments: Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Cline, Antigravity, and more.
Why OpenAgentSkills?
- Saves you time. Stop writing the same "review this component" or "write a commit message" prompts from scratch. Proven, battle-tested skills are ready to drop in.
- Agent-agnostic. You can use the same skill in Claude Code today and Cursor tomorrow. Skills are just robust instructions.
- Community-owned. Skills are contributed by real developers who use them in production. No vendor lock-in, no paywalls.
- Discoverable. Browse, search, and filter the entire library at simplyutils.com/ai-resources without digging through folders.

Quick Start
Get up and running in under 2 minutes:
# 1. Find a skill you need
npx openagentskills search "unit test"
# 2. Copy the skill into your project
mkdir -p .agents/skills/unit-test-writer
curl -o .agents/skills/unit-test-writer/SKILL.md \
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Notysoty/openagentskills/main/skills/unit-test-writer/SKILL.md
# 3. Tell your agent to use it
# "Write unit tests for src/auth.ts using the Unit Test Writer skill."
For Cursor: paste the ## The Prompt / Instructions section into your .cursorrules file.
How It Works
Step 1 — Find a skill
Browse the table above, run npx openagentskills search <query>, or visit simplyutils.com/ai-resources.
Step 2 — Drop it into your project
Copy the skill folder into your agent's skills directory:
your-project/
└── .agents/
└── skills/
└── git-commit-writer/
└── SKILL.md
For Cursor, add the contents to your .cursorrules file or paste it as a custom prompt.
Step 3 — Use it
Tell your agent to use the skill by name. For example:
"Write a commit message for my staged changes using the Git Commit Writer skill."

Skill Quality Standards
To be accepted, a skill must:
- Have a clear, specific use case (not too vague or too narrow)
- Include at least one real input → output example
- Be original (not a duplicate of an existing skill)
- Use the YAML frontmatter format correctly with all required fields
Why Tags?
- Tags: Define the capabilities, frameworks, or topics the skill relates to (e.g.,
react, seo, python, git). They let people easily find the right workflow for their current problem space.
Roadmap
- Web UI for searching and filtering skills at simplyutils.com/ai-resources
- Skill versioning so agents can pin to a specific version
- Automated CI validation of SKILL.md frontmatter on every PR
- Skill rating and usage stats from the community
- One-click install for supported agent environments
