Build books. Build a business.

Beyondwords is a goal-driven AI book production house designed to help you earn through publishing and book-production services. Start with a business goal, a book idea or no publishing experience. It helps you find a niche and category, develop an original book, create its cover and interior, publish through supported account workflows, run authorized advertising and improve from actual results.

Amazon Kindle and KDP are the primary focus. The workflow also supports preparing books for Lulu and creating deliverables for freelance clients. Research, writing, editing, design, production and marketing work together in one conversation, with your assistant doing the available work and bringing you the decisions that matter.

You bring the goal, creative direction and approvals. Beyondwords connects them to research, useful files and the next practical action. The aim is to build an income-producing business; earnings depend on the books, readers, costs and execution, and are never guaranteed.

See it in action

A 30-second Beyondwords walkthrough: inspect book samples, develop a manuscript, design a cover, prepare listing details and review the book in KDP Previewer.

Research → Create → Design → Prepare → Preview

The walkthrough uses edited screen recordings of a book project. It shows selected steps, including a labeled cover still; it does not represent a full installation, advertising campaign or sales result.

Two ways to build an income

Publish your own books

Build a catalogue under your author or publisher identity. Research a reader and niche, choose the right book, create and refine it, prepare ebook or print editions, then publish and market it through supported routes such as Amazon KDP and Lulu.

Track royalties and costs so the next title or advertising decision follows actual results.

Offer book-production services

Use the same production tools to deliver client work: research briefs, manuscript development, revisions, cover design, EPUB/PDF formatting and publication preparation.

Package the work you can deliver and quality-check into services for Upwork or direct clients. Keep each client's material and approvals separate.

These are two business uses of the toolkit. You still acquire clients, agree scope and pricing, review the work and meet platform and client requirements. Beyondwords does not include an Upwork account integration or guarantee freelance orders.

Your goal drives the workflow

“I want to build a publishing business and work toward a monthly profit target. Help me choose the right niche, understand the investment and create my first book.”

Beyondwords first clarifies the goal: profit or revenue, timeframe, budget, available time, country, language and existing skills or material. It then works with you through a repeating loop:

  1. Research the opportunity. Compare readers, niches, categories, competing books, previews and feedback. Offer five supported choices and let you choose.
  2. Plan the first experiment. Define an original book, its reader promise, format and costs. Discuss the budget and workload needed to test the idea.
  3. Produce and review. Develop the voice or visual style, create the book, revise it and prepare the cover and files.
  4. Publish and promote. Prepare the listing, carry out supported authorized account actions and run a bounded advertising experiment when connected.
  5. Measure and improve. Compare actual royalties, production costs and ad spend with the goal. Improve the current book or consider another title when the evidence supports it.

A target shapes the decisions; it is not proof of future earnings. Before sales history exists, planning uses research and explicit scenarios. As real reports arrive, the workflow updates from measured results. You get short conversations and concrete progress, not an unsolicited long business-plan PDF.

Choose the book that fits the reader

Book or format What Beyondwords helps you make
Kindle ebooks Fiction or nonfiction, an original voice, structured chapters, revisions and supported EPUB production
Print books Interiors, front/spine/back covers and print PDFs matched to the selected trim and current printer template
Novels and story collections Premises, characters, world rules, story arcs, chapter drafts and continuity checks
Illustrated and children's books Age-aware text, spread plans, art direction, illustrations through available image tools and image-page layouts
Cartoon-style books and comics Character references, panels, dialogue, lettering plans and page assembly using actual art/layout tools
Coloring, activity and puzzle books Original page concepts, supported text/image assembly, contact sheets and explicit usability or solution checks
Audiobooks Production guidance and a handoff for narration and audio review; native narration, mastering and audiobook upload are not bundled

The format follows the reader and the research. Visual work needs available image/layout tools; specialist layouts, puzzle solutions and final print/device previews require their own checks. An audiobook is a separate production and distribution route, not an EPUB export.

Built around Amazon KDP, with room to grow

For your own catalogue: use Amazon KDP for Kindle ebooks and supported print editions, or prepare suitable books for Lulu. Beyondwords researches relevant categories and listing terms, prepares the files and helps manage the publication workflow. Each platform has its own eligibility, rights, format and distribution requirements.

For client work: use the toolkit to produce agreed deliverables for services such as book and ebook writing or book design. These are examples of service categories, not evidence of demand for a particular offer or a promise of earnings.

For connected execution: Beyondwords can perform supported attended publishing actions and Amazon Sponsored Products operations when the actual tools, account access and authorization are in place. It can help create campaigns, analyze reports and monitor through a configured worker or scheduler. If a connection is missing, it continues with file preparation, report imports or a guided handoff and explains what still needs setup.

You can work step by step or delegate within an agreed scope. Sensitive account details stay with the owner; publishing choices, spending limits and creative review remain explicit. Beyondwords is an independent project, not affiliated with Amazon, Lulu or Upwork.

A publishing house inside your workflow

01 · Find the reader and the idea

Find candidate niches and categories by researching comparable books, permitted previews and actual reader feedback. Explore five researched niches with an idea for each, or five ideas within your chosen niche. See the gaps, contrary evidence and a useful next experiment.

02 · Write something with a voice

Build an original writing persona around the book, its reader and your creative direction. Approve a sample, develop an outline and draft chapter by chapter. Keep characters, facts, promises and unresolved story threads consistent.

03 · Edit beyond the surface

Review structure, logic, repetition, voice and factual claims. Tie review notes to the actual manuscript version. Prepare clear handoffs for independent editors and real readers, then turn their feedback into focused revisions.

04 · Design for the shelf

Study relevant covers and create original directions using available image tools. Compose editable typography, check native pixels and plan the front, spine and back against the selected print specification.

05 · Produce useful book files

Prepare supported EPUB, print PDF and editable DOCX outputs. Assemble illustrated or coloring pages, inspect contact sheets and check dimensions. Keep ebook and paperback decisions connected to the actual reading experience.

06 · Publish through connected tools

Work through country-aware account setup, public author identity, descriptions, categories and evidence-supported keywords. Prepare exact files and perform supported attended upload and submission actions when account access and authorization are available. Guide the owner through preview and remaining decisions.

07 · Run and review advertising

Develop an ethical reader-outreach plan and a bounded advertising experiment. Create and manage supported Sponsored Products campaigns through authorized API access, then analyze reports. Use imports when a connection is unavailable.

08 · Work toward your profit goal

Track royalties, production costs and ad spend against the agreed goal. Review performance with real data and continue through a configured monitor or scheduler, improving the book, listing or campaign as evidence arrives.

Your first conversation

Use Beyondwords to help me build a book business. I am new to publishing and want to work toward an income goal. Help me decide whether to start with my own books or client services, then research and guide me one step at a time.

Beyondwords starts with a short intake: your language, country, experience, interests, intended formats, available time and budget. Returning authors confirm saved details instead of starting over. An income goal leads to questions, research and transparent scenarios, not an invented guarantee or an unsolicited long report.

Start where you are

“I want to write fiction.”

Develop the reader promise, premise, character motives, world rules and story arc. Approve an original voice sample, then build chapters with continuity and editorial review. Bring your own creative choices; the assistant can help with drafting and revision.

“I know a subject and want to teach it.”

Define the reader's starting point and useful outcome. Research existing books, identify a specific unmet need and create a chapter plan. Source factual claims and use your real experience accurately.

“I want to make an illustrated, coloring or puzzle book.”

Research page samples and reader expectations, test an original prototype and choose the right format. Assemble supported image pages, coloring layouts or text-led puzzle interiors. Artwork requires an available image tool or supplied assets; puzzle logic and specialist page design need explicit checking.

“My book is nearly finished.”

Import the manuscript, assess gaps and prepare revisions, production files, cover specifications and listing material. Continue toward preview and publication without discarding your existing work.

“I want to offer book-production services.”

Choose a specific deliverable you can produce and review well, such as an ebook formatting package, an original cover or manuscript development. Create an honest sample, agree the client brief and use a separate private project for production and revisions. You manage the service listing, client agreement and payment through the chosen marketplace or direct relationship.

“My book is live. Help me grow it.”

Bring actual royalty and advertising reports. Separate attributed sales from author profit, inspect performance and agree on a bounded next experiment. Connect approved account access when available; otherwise work from imported reports and attended actions.

Independent by design

  • No mandatory publishing SaaS. No paid rank tool, proprietary market-data subscription or managed advertising service is required.
  • Your chosen assistant. The core does not call a model API. Writing, image generation and browsing use the host's available capabilities.
  • Private project memory. Author decisions, manuscripts and reports live in your selected workspace, separate from the installation.
  • Evidence behind decisions. Research keeps source links, editions, dates and uncertainty. Missing evidence stays missing.
  • Useful ownership. Original code is MIT-licensed. Book content and third-party resources retain their respective rights.

Beyondwords itself is free to use. Your assistant, optional services, printing and advertising may have costs. It cannot guarantee sales, viral reach, account approval or income. Publication still needs appropriate editorial review, reader feedback and print proofs. Practical limits and FAQ →

Security and private reporting

Found a security problem? Use Report a vulnerability to share it privately with the maintainer. The repository uses secret scanning, push protection, dependency alerts and CodeQL scanning alongside its package checks. Read the security policy for reporting details, supported releases and the boundaries of these protections. Automated scanning is not an independent security certification.

Under the hood

A portable skill orchestrates a Python 3.11+ local toolkit, a versioned project store and optional browser, production and account adapters. It includes source-evidence handling, manuscript history, artifact checks, action journals and report monitoring. Optional dependencies are pinned and documented.

There is no hosted Beyondwords backend and no bundled model. Persistent monitoring needs a running worker or configured scheduler. A tested local-inference path remains a future release requirement.
