There are three ways to install, depending on where you use Claude.
1. Claude Code — plugin marketplace (recommended)
Inside a Claude Code session:
/plugin marketplace add polar-bear-org/claude-skills
/plugin install workshop-pack@polar-bear-skills
That is it. The skills load automatically and Claude picks the right one when you describe the task ("help me structure a 3-hour session on pricing"), or you can call one by name ("run intention-framer").
To update later: /plugin marketplace update polar-bear-skills.
2. Claude.ai (web, desktop, mobile) — upload the zips
Every pack ships ready-to-upload zips in its install/ folder, one per skill.
- Turn on Settings → Capabilities → Code execution and file creation (skills require it).
- Go to Settings → Customize → Skills → Upload skill.
- Upload one zip per skill.
- Add the pack's files from
resources/to your Claude Project as project knowledge.
3. Manual — copy the folder
Skills are just folders. Copy any skill into your skills directory:
git clone https://github.com/polar-bear-org/claude-skills.git

The concept as the user would live it: 6 to 8 frames, ready to sketch or brief an illustrator | "storyboard this concept", "show the idea as a story" |
6 · Test with real people
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|

Per concept: what kills it if wrong, and the cheapest honest way to test it first | "what's the riskiest assumption here", "what should we test first" |
prototype-planner |
The cheapest test that answers the question: fidelity matched to the question, build time capped | "plan the prototype", "what should we build to test this" |

recommendation-writer |
The decision-ready close: what to do next, what it rests on, and the first two weeks of the next phase | "write the recommendation", "what do we tell them to do" |
Shared files: templates/ ships five blanks — challenge-brief-template.md, concept-card-template.md, interview-debrief-template.md, journey-map-template.md, and research-kickoff-template.md. Each also ships inside the skill that fills it in, so a claude.ai upload needs no project setup.
Onboarding Pack — packs/onboarding-pack
Twelve skills across three roles, covering the whole journey from a signed offer to day 90. You install the ones that match your role; everyone installs onboarding-setup. Claude prepares and keeps track; humans welcome.
Everyone starts here
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
onboarding-setup |
Gets your workspace ready in fifteen minutes: creates your Project, interviews you to fill company-onboarding-context.md, and test-runs your first skill |
"set up the onboarding pack", "where do I start with this pack" |
If you run onboarding (founder, HR lead, or HRBP)
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
preboarding-planner |
The plan from "yes" to day one: internal prep, keep-warm touchpoints, owners, and dates | "someone just accepted our offer", "we have a new hire starting" |
onboarding-comms-drafter |
The internal emails that make it happen: IT, finance, workspace, access, all short and on time | "write the IT setup email", "draft the message to finance about the new hire" |
welcome-brief-writer |
The cultural brief the joiner gets three days before starting, plus the congratulations choreography | "write the welcome brief", "what should Maria know before day one" |
welcome-pack-designer |
A welcome pack people keep: necessities per role, meaningful items, quality over logo count | "design our welcome pack", "what should we put in the welcome box" |
onboarding-checklist-builder |
The per-joiner checklist with tasks, owners, deadlines, and flags, plus a tickable dashboard you can keep local or host at a URL | "make the onboarding checklist", "build the onboarding dashboard" |
joiner-companion-builder |
Builds your policy-answering assistant, so "where's the expense policy" stops landing on you | "build the HR assistant", "new joiners keep asking me the same questions" |
If you are the hiring manager
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
team-deck-builder |
The four-layer intro deck: company, function, team, person, reusable for every joiner | "build the onboarding deck", "what do I present to my new hire" |
team-intro-writer |
The email that introduces the joiner to the whole team, photo included, in your voice | "write the intro email for Maria", "announce the new hire to the team" |
first-goals-writer |
First goals and expectations within two weeks, plus the ways-of-working session | "set Maria's first goals", "what should my new hire's 90-day goals be" |
week-one-designer |
The pre-booked first week: who they meet, when, and why, ready before day one | "plan Maria's first week", "who should the new hire meet" |
If you are the one joining
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
my-first-90 |
Your own pinned chat that tracks your meetings, trainings, and goals, and answers "what's next" | "I'm starting a new job", "what should I focus on in my first 90 days" |
Shared file: company-onboarding-context.md — your standing setup: who plays which role, the systems a joiner needs, your start-date rhythm, and the practical facts every brief draws from. onboarding-setup interviews you and fills it in once; every skill reads it, so you never re-explain your company.
Design Sprint Pack — packs/design-sprint-pack
Thirteen skills for the whole engagement: deciding whether a sprint is the right tool at all, the weeks of preparation nobody budgets for, the five days themselves, and the Monday after, which is where most sprints quietly end. Claude prepares, captures, and synthesises; the heat map, the Decider's call, and the five conversations stay human.
Before the week
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
sprint-qualifier |
Tests whether a sprint is the right tool, and is built to end in "no" without embarrassment: the sentence to say, and the alternative to sell instead | "should we run a sprint", "the client wants a design sprint" |
challenge-framer |
The long-term goal, three to five sprint questions, one challenge statement, and the sprint brief every other skill reads | "frame the sprint challenge", "what is this sprint actually about" |
sprint-cast-builder |
Casts the Decider and the seven seats, lines up the experts, writes the pre-reads, and builds the hour-by-hour calendar for your variant | "who should be in the sprint", "build the sprint schedule" |
test-recruiter |
Gets five real strangers booked for Friday: screener, sourcing, incentives, scheduling, consent | "recruit five users for Friday", "write the screener" |
sprint-facilitator-kit |
The room craft: timeboxing that holds, protecting silent work, the dominant talker, energy across five days, and running it remote | "how do I facilitate this", "someone keeps derailing the room" |
The week
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
map-and-target-runner |
Day one: goal check, the map, expert interviews captured as How Might We candidates, and the Decider's target choice | "run day one of the sprint", "pick the target moment" |
sketch-day-runner |
Scouts Lightning Demos overnight, sets up the four-step sketch, then adds machine concepts to the wall once the human round is sealed | "find lightning demos", "prepare Crazy 8s" |
decision-day-runner |
The decision with teeth: art museum, heat map, speed critique on the clock, the adoption check, straw poll, supervote | "run the heat map", "we need to pick a sketch" |
storyboard-builder |
The winning sketches into a fifteen-panel storyboard with a real opening scene, stress-tested for the gaps a tester will fall into | "build the storyboard", "what screens do we need" |
prototype-plan-writer |
Plans and staffs the build day, decides what is real and what is facade, writes the prototype's content, and forces the trial run | "plan the prototype", "who builds what tomorrow" |
test-script-writer |
The five-act interview script for your actual sprint questions, with the leading questions stripped out and the note grid set up | "write the test script", "what do we ask the testers" |
friday-debrief-synthesizer |
Five conversations into an answer: patterns confirmed by humans, each sprint question marked yes, no, or unclear, and an honest confidence statement | "synthesize the test sessions", "what did we learn" |
After the week
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
monday-after-planner |
Friday's answer into a decision record, a named owner, a two-week plan, and the evidence your sponsor will ask for before funding a build | "what happens after the sprint", "our sprint results are going nowhere" |
Shared files: templates/ ships two — sprint-brief.md, the one page holding the goal, questions, challenge, variant, cast and dates that challenge-framer fills in and every other skill reads, and friday-notes-grid.md, the blank grid the room fills live during the five interviews.
DesignOps Pack — packs/designops-pack
Twelve skills for the ops a design team already runs on but has never written down. Start with the map of how the team works today, then write one standard at a time; each skill reads the ones before it, so the last one can compile the lot into a handbook. Claude designs the rituals and keeps the records; the critique stays human — no skill here judges a design, scores a designer, or ranks anyone's work.
Start here
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
team-ops-mapper |
Writes down the rituals, handoffs, tools, decisions and pains as they are, not as you wish they were — the first file, and the one every other skill reads | "map our ops", "how does our team actually work" |
The rituals and standards
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
critique-ritual-designer |
Cadence, format, roles, rules for givers and receivers, and the objectives work gets assessed against | "design our crit", "our critiques are not working" |
critique-session-preparer |
One session: the brief, the framing question, the timebox — and afterwards, the presenter's notes turned into next steps | "prep my crit", "write up the crit notes" |
handoff-standard-writer |
Your definition of ready for design-to-engineering: package contents, states, edge cases, tokens, motion, and the checkpoint conversation | "define our handoff", "engineers keep asking for missing states" |
handoff-package-checker |
One package against that standard, item by item, as a to-do list rather than a list of what the designer forgot | "is this ready for engineering", "check my handoff" |
system-governance-designer |
Governance sized for a small team: a named owner, the change path, versioning, deprecation, and the decision-record format | "who decides on the design system", "our system keeps drifting" |
system-change-recorder |
One proposed change through that path, written up as a decision record a person can find a year later | "propose a system change", "can I just add this to the design system" |
file-hygiene-standard-writer |
Naming, project structure, cover and status pages, archiving, branching, what lives where — a page that fits on a wall | "how should we name our files", "Figma is a mess" |
Taking work on, and taking people in
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
request-intake-designer |
The front door: the brief, the triage rules behind yes, not-yet and no, and how the answer is delivered without losing the requester | "design request process", "requests come in by DM" |
capacity-planner |
Supply against demand for a week, month or quarter, at team and stream level, never as a per-person load report | "can we take this on", "the quarter looks impossible" |
designer-onboarding-planner |
A 30/60/90 plan built from the standards you have written: buddy, first critique, first handoff, first system contribution | "a designer starts in two weeks", "first 90 days for a designer" |
ways-of-working-handbook-writer |
Every standard compiled into one document a joiner, a client or an engineer reads in twenty minutes, with the contradictions flagged rather than resolved | "write the design team handbook", "compile our standards" |
No shared files: each skill reads the standards the earlier ones wrote, by file name, inside your DesignOps Studio project.
Innovation Pack — packs/innovation-pack
Twelve skills for a firm that keeps starting things and cannot say what any of them proved. The program skills set the frame — the charter, the gates, the ledger, the portfolio map — and the initiative skills carry one bet from a framed challenge through interviews and experiments to a gate decision that a named person signs. Evidence comes from the market and decisions come from humans: no skill here simulates a customer, scores an idea, or makes the kill call.
Set the program up
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
program-charter-writer |
The one page that lets a program say no: purpose, what counts as an initiative, the target ambition mix, the money and time envelope, who signs what, the review rhythm | "write the innovation charter", "we need rules for side projects" |
stage-gate-designer |
Three or four stages, one question per gate, a small funding round per stage, a way back one stage, and kill criteria agreed while nobody's project was on the table | "design our gates", "our review meeting kills everything" |
innovation-ledger-keeper |
Innovation accounting that moves before revenue does: indicators per initiative and stage, plus cycle time, kill rate, learning velocity and money by stage | "update the innovation ledger", "leadership wants numbers on the program" |
Find the bets worth making
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
portfolio-mapper |
Turns the pile into a map: every initiative placed by ambition and stage against the mix the charter promised, with the crowding and the holes named. It never ranks initiatives | "map our innovation portfolio", "are we too concentrated" |
innovation-challenge-framer |
A problem statement with edges: who has it, what it costs them, what a good answer must be true of, and what is out of bounds | "write an innovation challenge", "the partners want us to do something with AI" |
ideation-session-runner |
The format the challenge needs — pitch hour, sketch sprint, worst-idea round, client-signal harvest — with selection rules that keep seniority out, ending in idea one-pagers rather than a wall of notes | "plan an ideation session", "run a pitch day" |
Test them before they get expensive
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
discovery-interview-planner |
The conversations that have to happen before the prototype: who, how many, the guide, consent, the note template, and the synthesis into evidence | "plan problem interviews", "who should we talk to before we build this" |
experiment-designer |
The assumptions behind the idea, the riskiest one picked, and an experiment card whose pass and fail numbers are written before the test runs | "design an experiment", "how do we test this without building it" |
experiment-results-reader |
Results held against the card without renegotiating the numbers, the learning in a paragraph, and a scale, pivot, persevere or kill recommendation for a human to decide | "read these results", "pivot or persevere" |
Decide, fund, and stop well
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
gate-review-preparer |
One page of evidence in a fixed shape, the gate's own questions, a ten-minute script, and a decision record with one name on it — so reviewers compare evidence, not presentation skill | "prepare the gate review", "gate is Thursday" |
investment-case-writer |
What the money bought in the currency the program produces — reduced uncertainty — with what was stopped and why, the portfolio against the target mix, and the ask for the next round | "write the innovation budget case", "the CFO is asking what innovation is for" |
initiative-sunset-writer |
The sunset memo, the harvest of what can be reused, and the message that separates the decision from the people, so the next ideation session still fills up | "we are stopping this project", "write the kill memo" |
No shared files: each skill reads the artifacts the earlier ones wrote, by file name, inside your Innovation HQ project.
Employer Branding Pack — packs/employer-branding-pack
Twelve skills for a firm whose careers page says "fast-paced and collaborative" and whose joiners find out otherwise in week two. The pack runs one loop: listen to the people who already work here, distill what they say into a promise you can keep, tell it on a careers page and in job ads that help the wrong people not apply, then test the promise against a joiner's first weeks and correct whatever broke. Every claim about working here needs a living witness: a colleague said it or a founder signs it, no skill invents the witness, and nobody is quoted who has not approved the quote.
Listen before you write a word
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
evidence-interview-designer |
Eight to twelve conversations rather than a survey: who to talk to across roles and tenure (not the fans), the stay-interview guide that gets past "it's fine", the consent script, the note-taking rule | "who should I talk to about our culture", "stay interview questions" |
peer-claims-mapper |
The claims on five to ten peer careers pages sorted into table stakes, rare and specific — a list of phrases your EVP must not lean on. A firm of 35 cannot outspend anyone; it can out-specify everyone | "what do other agencies say on their careers pages", "everyone says great culture" |
evidence-synthesizer |
The notes read the unflattering way: themes with counts, the one person's view kept, contradictions named, the leadership view held against the team view | "what did the interviews tell us", "find the themes in these notes" |
Write the promise, and the pages that carry it
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
evp-from-evidence-writer |
The EVP as Give and Get pairs written only from the evidence base, each claim tagged with its evidence strength, plus the "not claimable yet" list — next quarter's to-do list for the workplace | "write our EVP", "what's our employer brand promise" |
careers-page-writer |
The page in a fixed order: what it is actually like here before the perks, the hard parts before the benefits, the honest process before the apply button, and only quotes people approved | "write our careers page", "rewrite the join us page" |
job-ad-writer |
The ad that rules people out on purpose: the real first ninety days, the give and the get for this role, "you'll dislike this if", the pay range, the process with dates | "write a job ad", "rewrite this job posting" |
realistic-preview-builder |
A Tuesday rather than a responsibility list, built from a conversation with the person doing the job today and approved by them, as a written piece and optionally a video script and shot list | "realistic job preview", "day in the life for this role" |
Be visible without a marketing team
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
team-voice-editor |
An editor, not a writer: it interviews the colleague, keeps their answers, marks every sentence it moved, and gives the draft back to them to finish. If they have nothing to say, there is no post | "help Sam write a LinkedIn post about the project", "employee advocacy" |
hiring-content-planner |
A quarter where each piece makes one EVP claim visible through something that happened, told by the person it happened to. A piece with no willing owner is dropped, not assigned | "content plan for employer branding", "we only post when a role opens" |
Check whether the promise held
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
brand-measure-designer |
Five or six measures that mean something at six hires a year — not applicant volume or reach — and how to collect each without tracking any individual | "is our employer branding working", "employer brand KPIs" |
first-weeks-promise-checker |
Week 1, 4 and 12 built from the exact sentences the joiner read before they applied, answered on their own, kept only with their consent, and turned into flags on the process rather than on the joiner | "someone starts Monday, check the promise", "did we tell the new hire the truth" |
brand-review-runner |
Every claim promoted or demoted on new evidence, and every broken promise sorted into "fix the words" or "fix the workplace" with an owner and a date. It never closes a broken promise by rephrasing it | "quarterly employer brand review", "is our careers page still true" |
Shared files: templates/ ships firm-context.md (the founder fills it once; every skill reads it), interview-notes.md (one per listening conversation, the only thing the synthesizer reads about individuals), and first-weeks-check.md (the joiner fills it at week 1, 4 and 12, and decides what is shared).
Case Study Factory Pack — packs/case-study-factory-pack
Ten skills for a firm whose best project is still an anecdote three people can tell. You sit down for thirty minutes with the person who ran it, and the pack turns that conversation into a source file: the story in order, the numbers with a named person behind each one, the client's lines as they were said. Every other skill writes from that one file — the web case, the long read, the pagers, the slide, the posts, the award entry, the proposal paragraph, the video script. Claude writes every format; it never supplies the experience, and it never fills a gap with a plausible number, quote, or scene. Getting the client's permission to publish stays your relationship and your job.
Get the story down first
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
case-interviewer |
The thirty-minute interview with the person who ran the project, one question at a time, written into the source file every other skill reads: the story in order, the numbers with their source and a named defender, the client's lines as said, what not to claim, how the client may be named | "let's get the story down", "capture this case before the team moves on" |
Write the case
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
website-case-writer |
The short web case, 400 to 700 words: the snapshot, the honest before, what was done, what changed with its base and its period, one quote, one takeaway | "we need a case study on the site", "write the case for the work page" |
long-read-case-writer |
The long read, 1,500 to 2,500 words in magazine shape: the decisions, the missteps, the thing a reader can actually learn, with an image list and captions | "write the long version", "a case study that shows our process" |
Build the files a pitch runs on
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
case-one-pager-builder |
The A4 leave-behind as a real PowerPoint file, and a PDF when it can export one, in your colors and type, built through code execution | "make a one-pager for this case", "the prospect wants something to forward" |
case-two-pager-builder |
The two-page version: page one the story, page two the approach, the results, the quote, the next step. Real PowerPoint file | "make a two-pager", "the buyer wants more than one page but not the deck" |
credentials-slide-builder |
The one slide for the creds deck, inside your own deck template when you give it one: the change in the title, three lines, one to three figures, logo if allowed | "put this case in the creds deck", "the pitch is Tuesday and this belongs in the deck" |
Take it outward
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
linkedin-case-post-writer |
The post from the firm and the post from the lead, plus a carousel outline, with the anti-slop rules built in | "post about the Acme project", "let's tell people about this one" |
award-entry-writer |
The category recommendation first, then the entry written inside the form's word counts for a jury reader, with results only from the source file | "can we enter this?", "which category should this go in" |
proposal-case-paragraph-writer |
The 120 to 180 word proof paragraph for a proposal or an RFP answer, matched to the prospect's situation without bending the case, plus a 40-word version | "add the Acme case to the proposal", "relevant experience for the RFP" |
case-video-script-writer |
A 60 to 90 second script for the lead or the client to say on camera, with a shot list and lower thirds, built from lines that were actually said | "marketing wants a video of this case", "can we do a video of this?" |
Shared files: templates/ ships firm-context.md (a founder or lead fills it once — positioning, tone, colors, type, naming policy, who signs off — and every skill reads it) and case-source.md (the blank the interviewer fills, one per project, and the only source every writer reads).
Proposals Pack — packs/proposals-pack
Twelve skills for the week a request lands and the deck is due Friday. Something arrives — an RFP, an email, a founder's notes after a call — and the pack turns it into a brief that keeps what the client asked for, what you know and where you know it from, and what you are assuming in three separate columns. Then the storyline is written as action titles before any slide exists, each section is drafted in the client's language, the deck is assembled on your own template, and someone reads it back from the client's chair before it goes. Claude writes the slides; people own the facts. Every claim about the client, the market, or a number comes from the brief or a named source, or it carries an assumption marker onto the slide. What the firm promises and what it charges stay a named person's call.
Set up once
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
firm-context-writer |
One conversation that writes firm-context.md: services and refusals, ideal client, the credentials library with real outcomes only, the team roster, the cost basis behind your prices, who approves what, and your deck conventions | "set up the proposals pack", "our rates changed" |
Decide what the deck argues
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
proposal-brief-builder |
Whatever arrived turned into the one file every section reads: the ask in a sentence, who decides and how, the requirements matrix for an RFP, known facts with sources, the assumptions register, your angle — plus the questions that would fill a thin brief | "we got an RFP", "we need a proposal for Acme by Friday" |
storyline-designer |
The ghost deck before any content: the executive summary, the sections this client actually needs, one action title per slide with the evidence it requires, and the slide budget | "what slides do we need", "how should this deck flow" |
Write the sections
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
context-objectives-writer |
"Your situation and objectives" in the client's own words — quoting the brief rather than improving on it, and marking every inference on the slide | "write the context section", "play back the brief" |
market-section-writer |
The market section from named sources only, keeping the two or three facts that change the answer, with the source on the slide. No sources, no section — it tells the storyline to drop it | "we need a trends section", "what's happening in their industry" |
problem-section-writer |
The problem as a diagnosis: symptoms, hypotheses about causes each labeled tested or untested, what it costs the client, and the boundary of what this engagement fixes | "frame the problem for Acme", "make the pain tangible" |
vision-section-writer |
The answer as a position rather than a service list: what will be different, what you will refuse, the two or three big moves, and why this fits this client | "what's our point of view", "write the target picture" |
approach-section-writer |
Phases, deliverables, timeline, governance, the client's role, and the risks named before the client names them — with dates and people kept as drafts until a person approves them | "draft the workplan for Acme", "what happens in each phase" |
team-section-writer |
Who is on this and why each fits, plus two or three cases chosen by resemblance rather than logo size, short and placed after the work rather than before it | "write the why us section", "which case studies should we show" |
investment-section-writer |
One to three options that are each a real offer, priced from your approved numbers with the assumptions next to them, plus terms and next steps with dates. No decoys, no invented market rate | "how do we present the fee", "write the commercials" |
Build it and read it back
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
deck-builder |
The .pptx on your template through code execution: one slide per action title, executive summary and dividers, a source line on every data slide, assumptions still visible, speaker notes, and the RFP requirements cross-reference | "build the deck", "generate the PowerPoint for Acme" |
deck-reviewer |
Four readers in one — the evaluator with the scoring sheet, the executive who reads only titles, the finance lead, the sceptic checking every number — returning an edit list ordered by what would cost you the decision, sent back to the section files rather than patched into the deck | "check the proposal before it goes", "does this answer the RFP" |
Shared files: templates/ ships firm-context.md (filled once with firm-context-writer — positioning, credentials, team, cost basis, approvals, deck conventions — and read by every skill) and proposal-brief.md (the blank the brief builder fills from an RFP or your notes, one per opportunity, and the source every section draws from).
Creative Futurology Pack — packs/creative-futurology-pack
Twelve skills for the work that starts when a client, or your own partners, want "something about the future" and nobody has said what decision it should change. The pack frames the question first, then scans for concrete, dated, sourced signals, clusters them into trends with an honest evidence grade, sorts the settled from the genuinely uncertain, and builds three or four constructed futures the team can walk into. From there it makes the futures tangible, runs the current strategy through each of them, turns what that teaches into moves with owners and dates, and keeps watching the signposts a quarter at a time. Claude scans and drafts; the leadership team does the arguing and the choosing. Real, dated signals are not optional and no scenario is ever a forecast — every skill in the pack will say so if asked which future will happen.
Frame it and find the evidence
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
focal-question-framer |
Turns "we should think about the future" into one focal question with a horizon, a scope and the decision it must inform, and fills the engagement brief every other skill reads | "we need a trends piece", "what should our offsite be about" |
signal-scanner |
Researches the web and logs concrete, dated, sourced signals, one card per signal with a link, across social, technological, economic, environmental and political territory — and merges the ones your team spotted. Never invents a signal | "find signals for our focal question", "we need evidence, not opinions" |
trend-synthesizer |
Clusters the signals into named trends with a direction, a maturity and an honest evidence grade. Three signals from two independent sources, or it stays a hunch | "what do these signals add up to", "cluster these" |
Build the futures
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
uncertainty-mapper |
Separates what is settled from what could go either way, sorts the drivers by impact and uncertainty, and proposes the two axes the scenarios stand on — recording the team's argument rather than replacing it | "which trends matter most", "pick the scenario axes" |
scenario-builder |
Three or four internally consistent constructed futures from the agreed axes, each with its logic, its timeline, who wins and who loses, and the first signs you would see. Labeled a constructed future, never a prediction | "write the scenarios", "build four worlds for 2030" |
future-artifact-maker |
Artifacts from inside each future — a headline, a product listing, a complaint letter, an annual report excerpt, a job ad — clearly marked fictional and built to make a room react rather than nod | "make the scenarios tangible", "write a headline from 2030" |
Turn them into decisions
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
strategy-wind-tunneler |
Runs your current strategy, or a set of options, through every scenario and grades each as holds, conditional or fragile, with the trigger that would force a change | "are we fine in all four worlds", "which of these options survives" |
implications-roadmap-builder |
No-regret moves now, options to keep open, big bets with triggers — each with an owner and a date. It does not choose the bet for you | "so what do we do", "turn the scenarios into actions" |
signpost-tracker |
The early-warning indicators for each scenario, with thresholds and a review cadence, plus the quarterly re-scan that keeps the scenarios and the roadmap alive | "which future are we in now", "quarterly scenario review" |
Take it to the room
| Skill | What it does | Say this to trigger it |
|---|---|---|
trend-report-writer |
The publishable trend report you send to clients: each trend as a tension with a question for leaders, sourced signals, implications and a provocation. Refuses a trend without sourced signals | "write our annual trends report", "draft the trends article" |
scenario-workshop-runner |
The half-day or full-day session where a team sorts the uncertainties, builds or tests the scenarios and claims the first moves: agenda, materials, facilitation prompts, capture. The room stays human | "plan the scenario workshop", "we're running the session next week" |
leadership-playback-designer |
The playback that makes leadership care: the pre-read, the 45-minute arc, the one decision asked for, and the capture afterwards. It will not ship the playback as a document instead of a session | "present the scenarios to the board", "how do I get leadership to care" |
Shared files: templates/ ships engagement-brief.md (the context file every skill reads first — focal question, horizon, the decision it informs, scope, who is in the room — filled with focal-question-framer and kept current by whoever leads the engagement) and signal-log.md (the blank signal cards anyone on the team fills when they notice something, which signal-scanner checks and merges into the signal log).
FAQ
What is a Claude Skill?
A Claude Skill (Agent Skill) is a folder with a SKILL.md file: YAML frontmatter giving the skill a name and a description, followed by Markdown instructions. Claude reads the description to decide when the skill applies, then loads the full instructions only when it is needed. Skills work in Claude Code, Claude.ai, and the Claude Agent SDK.
What is a skill pack?
A skill pack is several related skills plus their shared reference files, distributed together as one installable unit. A pack covers a whole workflow rather than a single step — the Workshop Pack, for example, spans intention through retro, and each skill hands off to the next.
How do I install a skill pack from GitHub into Claude Code?
Run /plugin marketplace add polar-bear-org/claude-skills in a Claude Code session, then /plugin install <pack-name>@polar-bear-skills. Claude Code reads .claude-plugin/marketplace.json at the repository root to find the packs.
Can I use these skills on claude.ai instead of Claude Code?
Yes. Each pack's install/ folder holds one zip per skill, ready for Settings → Customize → Skills → Upload skill. Enable code execution first, under Settings → Capabilities.
Do these skills replace the facilitator?
No. In the Workshop Pack, Claude designs and captures; humans facilitate. No skill here runs the room. They take everything around the craft off your plate.
Can Claude run user research for me?
No, and the Design Thinking Pack is explicit about it: Claude prepares and synthesises, humans meet the users. Every persona, insight and finding it produces is built from research with real people, and the skills say when it is time to go and talk to them.
Do I need performance review software to run a review cycle?
No. The Annual Review Cycle Pack runs the whole cycle — growth matrix, review forms, self-reviews, manager growth memos, 1:1s, retro — in Claude plus a shared folder of Markdown files. It is built for teams of 20–200, where per-seat performance software costs more than it returns.
Do I need onboarding software to onboard a new hire?
No. The Onboarding Pack runs the whole journey — pre-boarding plan, IT and finance setup emails, welcome brief, welcome pack, per-joiner checklist and dashboard, team deck, intro email, first goals, first week, and the joiner's own 90-day companion — in Claude plus a shared folder of Markdown files. Claude prepares and keeps track; the welcome itself stays human.
Can Claude run a design sprint for us?
No, and the Design Sprint Pack is explicit about where the line sits: Claude qualifies, frames, casts, scouts, captures, and synthesises, and it will even put concepts on the wall on sketch day — but no concept of its own reaches the vote unless a human puts their name on it, and the heat map, the Decider's call, and the five Friday conversations stay human throughout.
Can Claude write my graduate application or sit my assessment centre?
No, and Claude for Business Graduates holds one line throughout: Claude helps you prepare, practise, research, organise and critique your own work. It never sits a test, interview or assessment for you, never invents experience or results, and never writes assessed work unless your university's rules allow it and you say so. Nothing goes to an employer that you have not checked and cannot explain yourself.
Can Claude help me in my first job without doing it for me?
Yes, and Nail Your First Job with Claude holds one line throughout: Claude helps you learn the job faster and check your own work. Your employer's AI policy comes first, nothing it keeps confidential goes in, Claude never invents what you did, and nothing it drafts goes out in your name until you have read it, checked it and chosen to send it. The pack's AI Task Picker exists for exactly this — it names what you should keep doing by hand in order to learn the job.
Can Claude write marketing copy and campaign plans for a brand that is not mine?
It can draft them, and Claude for Marketing Graduates is built so a person stays accountable for what goes out. Brand copy follows the brand's own voice guide, every AI draft goes through a line-by-line review that records what was checked, kept, changed and cut, and every claim goes through a substantiation check: the pack never invents a statistic, a result, a review, a testimonial or a customer quote, so every claim in your copy traces to evidence someone holds. Advertising, consumer law and data protection points end with "check with a qualified adviser". Applications, posts and interview answers stay in your own words, from your own experience.
Are the skills free? What is the license?
Yes, free to use inside your company, not for resale. You may use them for your own team, your own company and your own client work, adapt them for that use, and share them with colleagues inside your organization. You may not sell, sublicense or redistribute them or derivatives as a paid product, template or course, or present them as your own work when redistributing them publicly. They are provided as is. See LICENSE.
Do they work with ChatGPT, Gemini or other assistants?
The SKILL.md skills are built for Claude. Eleven packs also ship plain-text prompts in a portable/ folder that you can paste into ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot or another text assistant, plus an ALL-SKILLS.md and PROJECT-INSTRUCTIONS.md for project setups: Compassionate Leadership, AI & Psychological Safety, Employee Experience, Team Performance, Stakeholder Relationships, Failures and Mistakes, Delegation, Changing Ways of Working, Handling Disagreements, Time for Top Priorities, and Important Decisions. That is prompt compatibility, not a native integration; results vary by assistant.
Where can I see each pack before installing it?
Every pack has a page at meet-polar-bear.com/skills with a guide and a zip download. The address is meet-polar-bear.com/skills/<pack-name>, for example meet-polar-bear.com/skills/ai-for-hr-pack.
Should I lower my prices because I use AI?
That is the question Pricing Under AI Pressure is built to answer, and it answers it from your numbers rather than from a rule. The AI Activity Map measures, activity by activity on real jobs, where AI actually saves time and what new work it adds; the AI Cost Ledger puts your tool and API bills next to that; and the AI Savings Decision then has you choose, per service, whether to pass the saving on, keep it as margin or reinvest it, with the line you will say to clients. The pack never sets a price for you, never invents a benchmark or a competitor's rate, and never hides your use of AI — the AI Disclosure Policy is there for the opposite reason.
Where will my next client come from if I only sell between delivery days?
That is the problem the Claude Guide for Finding Clients starts from. The Business Development Plan sets one 90-day goal from your own numbers, a warm-first channel mix and 2 or 3 weekly actions you control; the Weekly Business Development Hour makes it a fixed slot that survives a busy delivery week; and the Pipeline Review stages every open deal by what the buyer actually did, so a full-looking pipeline stops hiding stale deals. Warm comes before cold throughout: past clients, key accounts, referrals and your own network first, and cold outreach only as one person on one real public trigger. Claude researches, prepares and drafts from your real work and real clients — you choose who to talk to, put it in your own words and send it yourself.
What do I say when a client says AI could do this in 10 seconds?
That is the objection Claude for Winning Proposals is built around. AI Objection Answer splits the work task by task — what AI genuinely does well here, said first and without selling against it, what stays with you, and an option where the client does part of it with their own AI. Like-for-Like Quote Comparison levels your scope against a cheaper AI-first quote line by line, AI Use Statement puts your own AI use in the proposal in plain words, and Fee Structure Choice shows where AI speed changes the math on how you charge.
Can I add my own pack?
Yes — see CONTRIBUTING.md. It covers creating a pack from scratch, bringing in a pack that already exists, adding a skill to a pack, and editing one.

About the makers
Made by Polar Bear, a people ops consultancy for human-size teams (20 to 200 people). Built by ex-McKinsey founders with a dream to make AI work for people, not instead of them. We help clients build people systems and AI-first ways of working, and we run our own company on Claude. These packs are the free, self-serve version of how we work. If your team has outgrown them, message Pauline (linkedin.com/in/paulinebertry).

Claude Playbook for Authentic LinkedIn Presence: 29 Claude Skills
29 Claude skills for a LinkedIn presence built from your own ideas, in your own voice, that starts client conversations, in seven steps: your point of view, a profile that sells, finding the ideas already in your work, writing in your voice, the formats, the comments and conversations, then the weekly rhythm and what to measure. For founders, owners, partners, consultants, speakers and authors. Claude finds the idea in your own work and checks the draft against your own voice: it never invents a story, client, number or opinion, and it never posts, comments or messages for you.

Claude for Design Leaders: 32 Claude Skills
32 Claude skills to frame, explain, defend and prove design work, and to grow a team and a career, in seven steps: framing the problem with whoever holds the decision, explaining the decision so it stops being re-argued, preparing the room before the review and after it, running critique against a written bar, proving impact with metrics agreed up front, leading the team, and growing yourself. For senior, staff and principal designers who lead without reports, design leads, design managers and heads of design. Claude drafts the rationale, the deck and the write-up from your real work and real data: it never invents a metric, a user quote or a stakeholder's view, and it never rates a designer or a candidate.

Claude for Networking on LinkedIn: 31 Claude Skills
31 Claude skills for winning clients through the people you already know, from your own network to warm introductions, in seven stages: write your networking brief, your ideal client fit criteria and the line a contact can repeat; map your own network from your own LinkedIn data export, by fit to the brief and by closeness, down to a shortlist you choose by hand; research each person from public sources with a source for every fact; pick a reason to write that is useful to them and prepare the points you write from; tend past clients with no-ask check-ins, after-action reviews and approved case studies; ask for one specific introduction and make the introduction easy to forward; then keep a weekly rhythm with a run of ten, a follow-up tracker, a private log and a monthly review. For consultants, advisers, fractional executives, founders and owners who sell their own expertise. Claude helps you see your own network and prepare each conversation: you choose every person, write every word and send every message yourself, and nothing is scraped, automated or sent for you.

| Skill | What it does |
|---|---|
| Networking Brief | Who you help, the problem you solve, what you want help with now, who you would like to meet, a good introduction, who is not a fit |
| Ideal Client Profile | Fit criteria as situations, roles and triggers, signals you can read in a connections list, poor-fit signs, fit questions |
| Elevator Pitch | One or two sentences a contact can repeat, the problem in the client's words, three versions to test, words to drop |
| Five-Minute Favor List | What you can give in five minutes, who it suits by situation, what you will not offer, a log with no scorekeeping |
| LinkedIn Data Export Guide | Request steps from LinkedIn's help page, which files to use and leave out, where the file lives, column cleanup, when to delete it |
| Network Fit Map | Each connection read against the brief, the visible match and its reason, fit left for you to set, a fit floor, a cap per company |
| Closeness Tiers | A first estimate from your own message exchanges, four tiers in your own words, every tier corrected by you |
| Dormant Ties List | People you once exchanged with often and lost touch with, the thread to pick up, what to research, the reason to reconnect |
| Hand-Picked Shortlist | About 10 names you choose, your reason for each, fit and tier as you set them, company cap checked, names set aside |
| Person Research Brief | Public facts about one person's work, each with a source and date, unknowns stated, what you share, open questions |
| Trigger Event Scan | Recent public events with date and source, which one is worth a congratulation, what is too old or too private |
| Coffee Chat Prep | What you know (sourced), three questions you want answered, one thing to offer, what you will not pitch, how to close |
| Reason to Write Picker | The five reasons, which fits this person, why it is useful to them, the reasons that would be a pitch in disguise |
| Talking Points | 2 or 3 sourced points for the chosen reason, nothing pushed, no message assembled |
| Message Checklist | Your own message checked line by line against the checklist, flags only, no rewriting |
| Grammar Check | Grammar, spelling and punctuation fixes only, each change shown before and after, tone and length untouched |
| Past Client Reconnect List | Past clients from your own records, last real exchange, what has changed, the thread to pick up, no ranking by value |
| Client Check-In | A no-ask conversation plan, what changed, one useful thing to bring, questions, what you will not sell, a note to log |
| Client After-Action Review | With the client: what was meant to happen, what happened, why, what to keep and change, what they want next |
| Client Case Study | A short case from an interview, the client's approval of naming and numbers, a sourced figure list, a one-page version |
| Client Relationship Map | Who you know inside a client, two-way dependencies, who else faces the problem, facts separate from guesses |
| Introduction Ask | When to ask, one specific introduction tied to the brief, the easy way to say no, what you offer back, what not to say |
| Forwardable Intro Blurb | A short note the introducer can forward unedited: who you are, why this person, what you would ask, how to decline |
| Double Opt-In Introduction | Two separate permission notes, what each side gains, the introduction once both say yes, a graceful line for a no |
| Shared Introduction List | Your brief shared with a friend or partner, their people added against it, an owner column, what stays private, how to retire it |
| Partner Agreement | Each side's work, who each introduces to the other and why, how introductions and loop closing work, fee questions for an adviser, review date |
| Thank-You Note | A thank-you within days, what happened next (only what may be shared), a give back, a reminder to update the introducer |
| Run of Ten Plan | This week's run of about 10 people, reason and status per person, what is ready, what waits for research |
| Follow-Up Tracker | Replies due, one polite follow-up and when, when to stop, times found in your calendar, threads found in your inbox |
| Personal CRM Log | Who you spoke to and when, what they need, what you promised and by when, next touch date, facts only |
| Monthly Network Review | Where introductions and work came from, which reasons got replies, promises kept and open, gaps, the brief updated |
UX Research with Claude: 32 Claude Skills
32 Claude skills for planning, recruiting, running, synthesising and sharing user research, from the research plan to the repository, in seven stages: plan the study with what is already known, the assumptions that carry the risk, the research plan, and a check on any "synthetic user" answer offered instead of real people; recruit and consent real participants with a recruitment brief, a screener, an informed consent form, a data handling plan, an incentive plan and a participant database; write the guides for interviews, moderated and unmoderated usability tests, benchmarks, surveys and diary studies; run and capture sessions through contextual inquiry, accessible sessions, AI feature studies and same-day debriefs; synthesise with every quote kept through thematic analysis, usability findings, survey analysis, insight statements and an evidence trace audit; turn findings into a journey map, jobs to be done statements and an opportunity solution tree; then share and reuse them in a readout, an action tracker, repository entries and a tagging taxonomy. For designers who run their own research, UX researchers, and design leads who defend research time. Claude plans, organises and synthesises what real people said and did, with every insight traced to a quote or an observed session; it never invents a participant, a quote, a finding or a metric, and it never stands in for a user.
