What's a mod? Since v2.1.287, a Claude Code plugin can ship a mod: TypeScript hooks that run inside Claude Code itself. A mod can draw panes, bands and status lines, hold or rewrite any tool call, redact what the model reads, add slash commands, and call a model. Skills, MCP servers and shell hooks can't do those things. Official docs →

🤖 Maintained daily by Claude

Every morning a scheduled run has Claude Code fix anything a new Claude Code release broke, review the newest mods from the index and curate the best, and build one new mod from the ideas backlog. A clean machine re-runs every check before anything is published, and the agent can't touch the checks that judge it. See the changelog for what it did, or suggest a mod for it to build.

Then read Writing mods: the practical guide. It covers the ten patterns every mod here is built from (status line, toast, command, blocking a tool call, rewriting what the model reads, system prompt sections, bands, panes, state), the rules the validator enforces, and test recipes. When your mod works, add it to the list.

• passes claude plugin validate --strict, which also prints exactly which events it hooks and which APIs it calls. That output is published in What each mod can touch, and CI fails if it drifts
• type-checks under strict TypeScript
• ships tests that run on every push, and every week against the newest Claude Code (819 tests right now)
• was run in a real Claude Code session before it was merged
• sends no telemetry, and makes network calls only when its README says so

Community mods marked 📦 were read before listing and are pinned to that exact commit, so an upstream change can't reach you until we review it and bump the pin.
