What counts as an "agent skill"?

Any tool, plugin, extension, rule set, or capability that enhances an AI coding agent's abilities. This includes:

  • SKILL.md files (Agent Skills spec)
  • MCP servers
  • Cursor/Windsurf rules
  • Editor extensions for AI agents
  • Framework-specific tools (LangChain, CrewAI, etc.)
  • CLI tools for skill management
